What Is AskVet? How Does It Work?

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by taking care of your pet’s needs and wanted expert advice, then AskVet is exactly what you were looking for. It’s a subscription service lets you work one-on-one with a coach to create a “lifestyle plan” for your pet. That includes training, behavior issues, boredom, holistic care, and overall wellness. Plus, you get 24/7 access to a chat with a vet so they can answer any questions that you might have.

These are the primary services of AskVet, but it’s important to note that the company offers other benefits, too. It also has free ID tags.

With AskVet, you pay a flat monthly rate and get access to all these features whenever you need them, giving your pet more care and more confidence that you’re doing the right thing for them.

Even better, it’s extremely easy to use, and you only need one account for all your pets. This gives you a one-stop shop for farm animals, cats, dogs, and exotic pets.

  • Easy to use and sign up for
  • You can add multiple pets to a single plan

AskVet Pricing

One of the reasons so many people get AskVet is that it’s significantly cheaper than traditional vet visits. For a limited time, you can lock in AskVet for just $9.99 a month. That’s 24-hour access to a vet, 365 days a year, for a price that costs less than a single wellness checkup!

The price of $9.99 will be locked in for the user and will not jump back up to $29.99.

What to Expect From AskVet

When you sign up and use AskVet, you can expect an extremely responsive care team to treat you and your pet like they are their top priority. They give you instant access to vets through their 24/7 chat and one-on-one pet lifestyle plans.

AskVet wants you to feel like you’re getting a premium service, giving you access to any information you need with the click of a button. It’s easy to use and sign up for, and if you decide to cancel, it’s easy to do that, too.

You’ll be asked for a few pictures of your pet when you sign up, but you don’t need to get too fancy with it. Once you put in basic information, it will give you advice for your pet, and then you will schedule a pet lifestyle plan meeting (free with your subscription) to get a plan tailored specifically for your pet.

24/7 Vet Chat

This is probably what most people consider AskVet’s top feature, and it’s not hard to see why. When your pet is experiencing a medical problem, the last thing you want to do is wait for an appointment.

You also don’t want to spend excessive money taking your pet to an emergency vet if they don’t need it. That’s where AskVet’s 24/7 vet chat thrives. Whenever you need advice from a vet, they’re there to help you out.

Pet Lifestyle Plans

One of the best features you can get from AskVet is their Pet Lifestyle Plan. It all starts with a one-on-one meeting between you and a Pet Lifestyle Expert. During this meeting, they get to know you and your pet and develop a plan for nutrition, training, behavior, and overall wellness.

What’s great about these Pet Lifestyle Plans is that they consider your specific needs and concerns with your pet. My 10-year-old Elk Hound/Yellow Lab mix isn’t going to have the same needs as a chihuahua puppy, and the expert understands this when coming up with a plan for them.

They also get to look at specific issues you’re having and can give you helpful pointers to curb troublesome behaviors.

Free One Pet ID

Sometimes, despite our best efforts, our beloved pet slips out of the house. When that happens, you must have a way to get them back. That’s why AskVet includes a free One Pet ID with your subscription.

This scannable tag links directly to your home and can even send alerts to your phone when someone finds your pet. It’s easy to use and greatly increases the chance of getting your pet back if they get lost.

Is AskVet a Good Value?

AskVet is great value for everything that you’re getting. Even if you never use one specific feature, everything else that AskVet gives you for a low monthly rate is outstanding.

You get access to a trained vet whenever you need it, taking all the guesswork out of what you should do if your pet is under the weather.

divider-multipet Our Experience With AskVet

When I signed up for AskVet, I didn’t know what to expect. However, it was an easy process. I submitted a few pictures of Roxie, my 45-pound mixed-breed dog, created her profile, and then AskVet gave me a few recommendations about rash issues she has had.

I signed up on my computer, and as soon as I finished the process, a QR code appeared that made it easy to download the app to my mobile device.

On the app, I was able to quickly sign in and set up a one-on-one “Pet Lifestyle Plan” meeting, and it was easy to reach out to a vet through the chat service for any particular issues that I had.

But while all those are great features, what really surprised me was the ability to add more pets to my plan without spending any more money. All I had to do was click, “add a pet,” and put in the information for my cats.

This meant that with just one subscription, I could get 24/7 advice for all my pets, and I can keep adding pets that I might get in the future. Getting this support without any additional fees is an outstanding feature.

You need to do more to care for your pet than to go in for a wellness checkup once a year at the vet’s office. Your pet can’t communicate with you the same way that other people can, and many conditions often get overlooked or missed for much longer than they should.

AskVet can help with that, giving you one-on-one lifestyle advice from a pet expert, plus constant access to a vet to help you address issues and guide you as soon as things crop up. Give it a try, and we’re sure that AskVet will impress you with all that it has to offer!
