200+ Cool Crested Gecko Names: Ideas for Your New Lizard

Crested Gecko Names

If you’ve just brought home a brand-new Crested Gecko or are thinking about doing so, finding just the right name for them can be a little daunting. These geckos are sometimes called Eyelash Geckos due to the fringed crest that runs over their eyes and along their necks and backs.

Crested Geckos are great lizards for beginners because they are low maintenance and quite docile and gentle. They originated in New Caledonia (islands that are a part of France but located in the South Pacific) and are tree dwellers.

This list has many names for you to consider: There are male, female, and gender-neutral names; serious and silly names; and names based on appearance and food. We hope that you’ll find just the right one for your Crested Gecko somewhere on here!

How to Name Your Crested Gecko

The Crested Gecko can come in several colors, patterns, and morphs. Many people name their pets based on the animal’s color or pattern, which you can think about doing with your gecko.

Another consideration could be based on where the lizard comes from. Crested Geckos come from New Caledonia, which is French, so you could give a French name to your pet or something South Pacific in nature.

Then there’s their habitat. These are tree-dwelling lizards, which can give you an assortment of unique names to choose from. Your gecko might also have a funny little quirk or trait that you can use for naming possibilities.

Consider a punny name, like Luke Treewalker, or something that rhymes, such as Echo the Gecko. You can even give your gecko a royal title, like King Gordon the Gecko or Princess Peach (if she’s orangey in color).divider-reptile
