8 Wonderful Dog-Friendly Beaches on the Gold Coast, Australia in 2024

The Gold Coast in Australia is one of the most beautiful sites you can possibly see. If you are on vacation, it’s no wonder you want to share this enriching experience with your canine friends.

But unfortunately, when we’re taking out our dogs, we have to ensure that the area is compatible with canines. Luckily, we have a handful of excellent dog beaches and swimming holes we think might just make your adorable pup’s day!

The 4 Dog-Friendly Beaches

1. Biggera Waters Beach

Off-Leash: Yes
  • Off-leash is only allowed at certain times of the day (5-8 a.m., 4-7 p.m.)
  • Area is already pre-stocked with bags for clean up—making your job easy!
  • Make sure to follow safety rules and keep your dog in your sight.

2. The Spit

Cost: Free
Off-Leash: Yes
  • Located close to Sea World—fun for the whole family
  • Completely off-leash, no designated times
  • Food and drink options are within walking distance
  • Must check for beach markers to see what area your dog can be in

3. Tallebudgera Creek Beach

Off-Leash: Yes
  • Very scenic, lovely location—half beach, half creek
  • Open 24 hours to the public
  • No designated times for off-leash—your pup can go as they please

  • Must be 200 metres away from flagged areas as seen

4. Currumbin Creek Beach

  • 1 kilometre of exploring space for your canine compadre
  • Dog parks included in this location
  • Full access to an awesome agility park
  • Fenced-in playground for children
