About Dr. Marty’s Nature’s Feast Pet Products
Who makes Dr. Marty’s Nature’s Feast and where is it produced?
Dr. Marty’s produces the Dr. Marty’s Nature’s Feast, as well as a line of cat treats. All of their products are produced in North America. Their ingredients are “thoughtfully sourced,” although it is unclear where all of their ingredients are sourced from.
Which type of cat is Dr. Marty’s Nature’s Feast best suited for?
Dr. Marty’s Nature’s Feast cat food is appropriate for most cats. It may be difficult for kittens to eat due to the size of the kibbles, so you may need to soak this food to soften it for feeding to smaller kittens. Make sure to discuss feeding this to your kitten with your vet since this food is not formulated specifically for kittens.
Otherwise, this food is suitable for adult and senior cats that don’t require a reduced protein diet. Some medical conditions, like kidney disease, may require a lower protein diet to support health.
Discussion of the Primary Ingredients (Good and Bad)
The Importance of Nutrient Density
A nutrient-dense food is a necessity for supporting your cat’s overall health and longevity. Low-quality cat foods are designed to meet the basic needs of your cat, but they are not designed to support overall health and wellness. A high-quality cat food, like Dr. Marty’s Nature’s Feast, will help keep your cat healthy from the inside. Each cat is different, but a high-quality food is more likely to help your cat stay healthy for longer than a low-quality cat food will. High-quality cat food has great nutrient availability for your cat’s body.
Grain-Free Diets for Cats
Although grain-free diets have been in the news in recent years for their potential connection to heart disease in dogs, grain-free diets are typically a safe choice for cats. Cats are obligate carnivores that require little to no plant matter in their diet. Grain-free diets are not a necessity for cats, though, and it’s important to understand that cats can be perfectly healthy on a diet containing grains.
Pricing
The pricing of Dr. Marty’s Nature’s Feast cat food is quite steep, especially considering the amount of food you get in a bag. You can expect to pay around $5 per ounce of this food. Although it is nutrient-dense, a 12-ounce bag will not last most cats more than a couple of weeks.
Dr. Marty’s Nature’s Feast Cat Food Review
The Dr. Marty’s Nature’s Feast cat food is a great food for cats of just about any age, except those requiring a reduced protein diet. It’s made with whole foods that are nutrient-dense options. It contains more calories per cup than many other cat foods, at 246 calories per cup. This means that you may be able to reduce the amount of food you’re giving your cat without reducing their calorie intake.
The high protein content in this food will help your cat feel satiated between meals, which may prevent early begging for meals. It’s formulated to meet a variety of needs for many cats, including cats with dental and digestive problems. It contains ingredients that help support joint health, and this food may help increase mobility and longevity in older cats. It’s free of artificial preservatives, fillers, and additives.
The texture of this food is appealing to many cats because it is easy to eat but still provides a little bit of the crunch that many cats crave. It’s freeze-dried to enhance safety without eliminating the nutritious value of the ingredients in the food.
This food does retail for a high price that may be out of the budget for many people.

Our Experience with Dr. Marty’s Nature’s Feast
Feeding three cats can be hit or miss, and that was my experience feeding Dr. Marty’s Nature’s Feast to my cats. I have a picky cat who tends to prefer kibble and freeze-dried foods, and two non-picky cats.
Not surprisingly, the picky cat who prefers high-quality kibble and freeze-dried foods, Noodles, turned her nose up at this food. It took two days of feeding attempts to get her to even try this food, and even then, she made it very clear that it was not her preference. She never ate more than a couple of bites of this food.
My oldest cat, Aslan, is generally ravenous and absolutely not picky with his food. While he was willing to eat this food, he didn’t seem overly enthusiastic about it. It has seemed to keep him fuller between meals than other foods we’ve tried, and the high protein content has worked well with some of his medical problems.
The baby cat of the family, Nutmeg, was transitioned off of kitten food to this food. I had discussed concerns about her weight with our vet, and she agreed that transitioning her from kitten food at 10 months of age was appropriate since she was starting to look a little rotund. She has seemed to really enjoy this food, and she comes running when she hears the bag. She’s been looking much healthier since switching to this food, with a noticeable improvement in her coat and looking less chunky, even right after eating.
Considering the high price tag of this food, I doubt we will continue to feed it since it has only been of major benefit to one out of three cats in the household. However, it is a high-quality food that could be of major benefit to kitties that enjoy the food. Be aware before you purchase that this food has a very strong fishy odor, so if you or your cat have an aversion to strong scents, this may not be the food for your home.
Final Verdict
The Nature’s Feast cat food from Dr. Marty’s is a great, high-quality cat food that can help improve your cat’s overall health and support longevity. Pickier cats may not be big fans of this food, but it is a great food option if your kitty will eat it. This cat food is high in protein and contains bioavailable nutrients, which means your cat will be able to get the maximum amount of nutrients from this food. It’s formulated to not only support overall health but also to support your cat’s teeth, joints, muscles, and immune system.
