Freshpet Inc. has announced a voluntary recall of a single lot of Freshpet Select Fresh From The Kitchen Home Cooked Chicken Recipe (4.5 lb. bag), with sell by date of 10/29/22, due to potential contamination with Salmonella.

What You Need to Know About Salmonella Poisoning

If your pet has a Salmonella infection, they may become lethargic and have fever, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, and vomiting. Some less obvious side affects decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. If you pet has become infected but is still otherwise healthy they can still be carriers of Salmonella and infect other animals or humans. If you know your pet has consumed the recalled product or is currently experiencing any these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian immediately.

If you have products matching the following description and sell by date you should stop feeding it to your dogs and dispose of it immediately.

No other Freshpet products or lot codes are impacted by this recall. So far, Freshpet has received no reports of illness, injury, or adverse reaction due to this food.
