 Behind Pet Keen

Roland has been an animal lover all his life, with cats holding a special place in his heart. He is owned by three felines: Wheely, KitzKitz, and Nugget (all rescues) who bring all the laughter and mischievousness one can expect from the feline master race. As a result, Roland now works for and writes about all animals, providing in-depth educational articles to assist in the search for the best gear to help improve the health and wellbeing of his pets.

Roland is an avid writer and a frequent contributor/editor to feline publications and websites; this work influenced his decision to create Petkeen.com as he wanted to share his knowledge with people all over the world. A Canadian expat, he now lives in Europe, together with his beautiful wife under the benevolent rulership of their feline overlords.

Hi! I’m Dr Joanna Woodnutt!

I’m an experienced vet working mainly with companion animals. Whilst I still work two days a week for a local practice, I realized that I could help more people if I wrote down some of the things I talked about in my consultations. I now spend most of my time writing about pet health for a range of magazines and websites, so that people all over the world can learn more about their pets.

Rachael has been a freelance writer since 2000, in which time she has had an opportunity to research and write about many different topics while working to master the art of fusing high-quality content with effective content marketing strategies. She is an artist at heart and loves to read, paint, and make jewelry in her spare time. As a vegan, Rachael is obsessed with helping animals in need both in her community and anywhere in the world where she feels she can make a difference. Animals also happen to be her favorite topic to write about! She lives off the grid in Hawaii with her husband, her garden, and her rescue animals including 5 dogs, a cat, a goat, and dozens of chickens.

Jordin Horn is a freelance writer who has covered many topics, including home improvement, gardening, pets, CBD, and parenting. Over the years, she has moved around so much that there's been no time to settle down and own a pet. However, as an animal lover, she dotes on and cuddles any pet she happens upon! She grew up with and dearly loved an American Eskimo Spitz named Maggie and a Pomeranian/Beagle mix named Gabby. She calls Colorado home, but has also recently resided in China, Iowa, and Puerto Rico.

Jordin does not like to settle for the "easy answer" when it comes to living life with your pet. She loves to research the best methods and products out there and cut through the jargon so you can see plainly what something is or how something is done.

Kathryn was a librarian in a previous lifetime and is currently a writer about all things pets. When she was a child, she hoped to work in zoos or with wildlife in some way, thanks to her all-consuming love for animals. Unfortunately, she's not strong in the sciences, so she fills her days with researching and writing about all kinds of animals and spends time playing with her adorable but terribly naughty tabby cat, Bella. Kathryn is hoping to add to her family in the near future – maybe another cat and a dog.
