PK_SAPR_CBD Pet Hemp Oil Review

Our Final Verdict

We give CBDPure CBDPet Hemp Oil a rating of 4.75 out of 5 stars.

Quality: 5/5
Ingredients: 5/5
Options: 4/5
Value: 5/5

The power of CBD to help people and pets is becoming more undeniable by the day. But not all CBD products are created equal. This is especially true of pet CBD products, many of which are far inferior to human-grade products.

That is not the case with CBDPure’s CBDPet Hemp oil.

This product is so high quality, that you could take it yourself. In fact, CBDPet is made with the same USDA organic, CO2-extracted hemp oil as all of their human CBD oils. The concentration is adjusted to make it easier to dose pets of all sizes, but otherwise, it’s just as pure and effective as the rest of the wonderful products they offer.

I had a chance to try CBDPet on my own gaggle of furry family members. I tested it out on my nervous Chihuahua, Papyrus, my old and achy Dalmatian mix, Ragz, and my hyper six-month-old cat, Makoa.

Overall, I was very impressed with this product. Keep reading to find out why, to see if it had any drawbacks, and to read my full CBDPure CBDPet review.

About CBDPure

CBDPure CBDPet Hemp Oil - product packaging

CBDPure is a family-owned company that operates out of Washington state. All of their hemp oil is sourced from family-owned farms in Colorado. Since their start in 2016, they have been committed to safe, pure, organic products that their customers can’t help but love.

CBDPure’s products CBDPet, CBDPure 300, 600, and 1000 are third-party tested and certified organic. Best of all, they offer an industry-leading 90-day customer satisfaction guarantee. Giving you plenty of time to decide if their products are right for you or your pet.

What Products Does CBDPure Offer

In addition to their CBDPet oil (which comes in one concentration), CBDPure also offers a long list of human-specific products.

These include:
  • CBD oils
  • CBD soft gels
  • CBD muscle and joint cream

These come in a range of concentrations from 300mg per bottle to 3,000mg. They also offer special calming and sleep hemp oil blends that contain additional cannabinoids like CBG, CBN, and THC.

Which Type of Pets is CBDPet Best Suited For?

CBDPet is made of human-grade hemp oil but at a much lower concentration, making it easy to dose a variety of different types of pets.

Most animals, including all mammals, birds, and reptiles, have endocannabinoid systems. Any animal with an endocannabinoid system can benefit from the cannabinoids found in CBDPet oil. And since this oil is pure and organic, it’s safe for most types of pets.

That said, the lower concentration of CBDPet (1.7mg per ml), makes it a better choice for small pets, including cats and small breed dogs, and larger dogs who only need a low maintenance dose. Large dogs who need a therapeutic dose of CBD will require quite a bit of this oil to reach a full dose.

All CBDPure products contain full-spectrum hemp oil. This means their pet oil does contain trace amounts of THC. Lab tests show this amount to be 0.04mg per ml, which is well below the accepted safe amount of THC for most pets to ingest.

That said, pets taking a high dose of this CBD for long periods may be better off on a THC-free product.

Overview

CBDPure CBDPet Hemp Oil - bottle and packaging

Here’s an overview of CBDPet, including the ingredients, how to dose it, what to use it for, and when to expect to see results.

Ingredients

Each bottle of CBDPet contains just three high-quality ingredients.

Organic hemp seed oil acts as a carrier, helping to dilute the CBD oil into a doseable amount. It also helps protect the CBD from breaking down while making it more absorbable to your pet’s system.

This type of oil makes a great carrier for CBD because it contains many complimentary compounds that make CBD more effective, such as tocopherols. Hemp seed oil is also filled with omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, which have many benefits to overall health.

Organic full-spectrum hemp oil delivers CBD and a whole host of other cannabinoids. These additional cannabinoids help make CBD more effective. This is known as the entourage effect and is one of the reasons full-spectrum CBD oils are considered more effective than broad-spectrum and isolate products.

Organic hemp terpenes are also added to this blend. Terpenes are vital to the entourage effect and can be found in small amounts in full-spectrum hemp oil. Adding additional terpenes increases the oil’s anti-inflammatory properties and makes it more powerful overall.

Dosing

Each 1/2 dropper (1 ml) of CBDPet oil contains 3mg of full-spectrum hemp oil and 1.7mg of CBD.

The suggested use for this product is 1 ml per 10 pounds of body weight twice daily or as needed. This fits well with the generally recommended dose of CBD for dogs and cats, which ranges from 1mg to 5mg per 10 pounds of body weight.

The lower dose is considered a maintenance dose, while the higher one is considered a therapeutic dose.

Uses and Administration

CBD has shown promise in supporting pets with various challenges, ranging from arthritis and discomfort to anxieties, phobias, and more. Products like CBDpet, which utilize full-spectrum CBD, are favored for their broad application, including support for nerve-related concerns and more.

CBD can also be used in low doses to help balance the endocannabinoid system as well as many other systems in the body.

CBDPet is not a flavored product and comes only in oil form. I found it easiest to administer by adding it to my pets’ food. Both my dogs and my cat happily ate it this way.

If your pet likes the taste of plain hemp oil, you may be able to get away with squeezing the oil directly into their mouths. But be careful as the dropper is made of glass.

How Long Does It Take to Work?

In general, CBD oil products take about 30 to 60 minutes to have a noticeable effect. This effect is cumulative, though. So expect to wait up to 3 weeks to see full results from using CBD daily.

My pets have all been on different CBD products in the past. Because of this, I noticed significant results from CBDPet after using it for only a week.

Key Features

CBDPure CBDPet Hemp Oil

Purity

CBDPet is made from human-grade, certified organic hemp oil. It is CO2 extracted, which means there are no added chemicals or impurities during the extraction process.

The oil also undergoes microanalysis by independent, third-party labs to ensure purity. You can view these lab results here.

This all means you can trust this product to be safe for your furry family.

Full-Spectrum

Research has shown that CBD is more effective when taken alongside the host of other cannabinoids, terpenes, and phytochemicals naturally found in full-spectrum hemp oil. This is why CBDPure offers only full-spectrum products in their human and pet lines.

It is true that THC, one very minor component of full-spectrum hemp oil, can be harmful to pets. But at very low levels, such as those found in CBDPet, it actually does more good than harm.

Low Dose

The lower concentration of CBD in this product makes it a great option for small pets. Highly concentrated oils can be hard to measure out in tiny amounts for small-breed dogs and cats. With just 1.7mg of CBD per ml, CBDPet makes it easy.

It is also a great option for larger dogs on a low-maintenance dose of CBD. Additionally, this CBD oil product comes in a 60ml bottle rather than a 30ml, as most do. This means a single bottle will last you twice as long.

Is CBDPet a Good Value?

One of the most surprising things about CBDPet is the price tag. This product is incredibly well priced for the quality of the ingredients and the amount of CBD per bottle.

A 60ml bottle of CBDPet costs half as much as a 30ml bottle from most leading CBD pet brands. I’m not sure how they do it, but I can say from firsthand experience that this product works despite that bargain price.

FAQ

Is there a money-back guarantee?

Yes! CBDPet comes with one of the best customer satisfaction guarantees in the industry. You can try your CBDPet worry-free for up to 90 days to see if it works for your pet.

Do pets like the flavor?

In my experience, dogs and cats don’t necessarily like the flavor. That is, they won’t lick it off the dropper. However, when mixed with food, all my pets happily ate it up without a second thought.

Will CBDPet get my pet high?

No, hemp oil, even full-spectrum, will not get you or your pet high.

By law, hemp oil must contain less than 0.3% THC, which isn’t enough to cause psychoactive effects. CBDPet contains even less THC than this, making it perfectly safe for pets.

Our Experience With CBDPet Hemp Oil

One of my first freelance writing clients was a natural pet company that sold pet CBD hemp oil. This was long before these types of products were common. But even back then, I could see how important they would become to pet wellness and treatment in the future.

Unfortunately, as CBD became more popular, so too did low-quality pet CBD oils. And that’s why I was so excited to give CBDPet a try—because this oil is different.

You don’t see a lot of certified organic, three-pure-ingredient, human-grade pet oils on the market. And I have never come across one so pure that the marketing material openly invites humans to use it.

But purity and quality ingredients only go so far. To see how well this product actually works, I tested it on my pack of pets, each of whom has a different issue CBD is known to help with.

Papyrus, my 14-year-old Chihuahua, has always been nervous. And now that he is older, he also has trouble sleeping and has a lot of leg and back pain.

Ragz, my soon-to-be 13-year-old Dalmatian mix, has a bad shoulder that leaves her limping constantly.

And Makoa, my six-month-old rescue kitten, just needs a little help chilling out.

The Results

For the dogs, I gave them each two doses of CBDPet per day in their meals. Ragz got 4ml (6.8mg CBD) and Papyrus got 2ml (3.4mg CBD) for each dose.

I dosed Makoa only in the morning when his zoomies tend to be the most destructive. I gave him 1ml (1.7mg CBD).

They had all previously been on a CBD isolate which I liked. But I was eager to see if a full-spectrum product could do more.

Ragz seemed more comfortable and moved around with greater ease after incorporating CBD into her routine. There was a noticeable reduction in her reliance on pain medication. Over the two weeks she has used this product, there hasn’t been a need for any pain pills.

Papyrus is dramatically more limber than normal and is sleeping better than ever. Most surprisingly, though, is that he started getting extra playful after starting this oil. He now plays with his favorite stuffy at least once a day and playbows at me much more frequently than I have seen him do in years.

I can’t say that the oil did much to take the edge off Makoa’s playfulness. He is still a crazy kitten. But he does seem to be sleeping more restfully and takes much longer naps now, which I appreciate.

All three of them handled the oil very well. I get worried with low-dose products like this that all the oil it takes to give a substantial dose might cause digestive upset. But none of them seemed to have problems.

Each of them happily ate their food after the oil was added and I saw no side effects of any kind.

Conclusion

I can’t say enough about CBDPure’s CBDPet oil. It is one of the highest-quality pet oils I’ve come across. Yet, it is affordably priced and will fit into most pet owners’ budgets.

This human-grade, USDA-certified organic oil contains a full spectrum of CBD, cannabinoids, and terpenes for maximum effectiveness. It certainly had a positive effect on my two senior dogs and my crazy kitten. Most importantly, I knew I could trust this product to be safe for my favorite furry friends.

If you’re looking for a high-quality CBD pet oil that’s effective and so pure humans can take it, I can’t recommend CBDPet enough.
