The Pet Care Specialist is similar to the Pet Care Associate, and people usually become a specialist after becoming a specialist. The tasks are usually the same, with responsibilities that include cleaning the habitats, feeding, and looking after the animal’s health. Though the average pay rate is about the same, it usually includes a small pay raise based on region.

PetSmart PetsHotel Associate

  • Pay Rate: $11/hour

PetSmart PetsHotel Associates are entry-level positions where your job includes caring for animals staying in the hotel. You will need to clean the habitat and play with the animals. You will also gain people skills as you talk with the many parents that bring their pets to stay.

Dog Bather

  • Pay Rate: $11/hour

The Dog Bather is the final entry-level position on our list, and as you may have guessed, job responsibilities include helping other dog groomers bathe dogs. Associate Manager

  • Pay Rate: $14/hour

The Associate Manager is another position that has many responsibilities, including the smooth operation of the store. You may need to conduct interviews. You may also need to interview, hire, and retain employees. This position offers plenty of experience with animals, and it will improve your business skills.

Dog Groomer

  • Pay Rate: $14/hour

Customer Engagement Manager

  • Pay Rate: $19/hour

The Customer Engagement Manager works closely with customers to ensure they have a positive experience in the PetSmart store. Customer engagement managers ensure associates have proper training and make sure everything in the store is where it should be. This employee will also make sure there is no clutter, and the isles are safe to walk.

Presentation Manager

A presentation manager is responsible for traveling around to different stores to implement visual merchandise and set up store displays. You will need to coordinate the timing of these displays, and you might also need to contribute to the design of the displays and modify them for different stores. Store Manager

  • Pay rate: $80,000/year

The store manager is responsible for all activities that occur in the store. As a store manager, you will need to hire and fire employees and help your team reach its goals. In addition, you will work closely with corporate offices to set up objectives and boost sales.

How Old Do You Have to Be to Work at PetSmart?

You will need to be at least 18 years old to work at PetSmart in any position. Cash registers require handling money, and other positions require heavy lifting, working with sharp objects, and other hazards, so you must be an adult to accept the risks.
